In mid May we went to Philadelphia and nearby New Jersey to tour industrial yards and terminals, and the Conrail Pennsgrove Secondary Line. Ancient bridges dotted the countryside in quiet majesty.

At the end of the line stood the prize, an old TRONA Baldwin AS616 being restored; although pretending to be grumpy, the mechanics were railfans and gave us permission to enter the cab.
